Heraklion - Knossos Palace & Heraklion Town
Duration: 4 hours

Description: Crete is the largest and most versatile of all the Greek Islands. It is the birthplace of the Minoan Civilization and home of the Olympian god Zeus. We start off the tour with a drive through Heraklion Town to the archaeological site of Knossos. In the late 19 th century and early 20 th century, Sir Arthur Evans, a great British archaeologist began extensive excavations in the area, which had already been started by Minos Kalokairinos in 1878. Excavations revealed a great empire that flourished in Crete in 4,000 BC, and based on artefacts found on the site, Sir Evans discovered that the site was the center of the Minoan civilization, a culture that was extremely sophisticated for the standards of the era. Knossos Palace is breathtaking, with frescoes and other wall decorations in its halls and areas, including the Hall of the Double Axes, the Hall of the Royal Guard, the King’s Chambers which include an alabaster throne, the Queen’s Apartments, courtyards and shrines. From Knossos, we head for Heraklion Town, where we will explore the city, a mixture of traditional and modern features. Santorini - Sailing & Volcano
Duration: 3,5 hours

Description: Our cruise takes us to the active volcanic crater of Nea Kammeni isle. Sailing around the island, we have the chance to see unusual rock formations which combine black and red volcanic rock and white pumice stone. As we slowly sail towards the isles of Palea Kammeni and Nea Kammeni in a traditional tour caique, the color of the water changes from deep blue to emerald green. An unforgettable experience is our walk to the top of the volcano; one of the volcanoes still spews sulphur into the air. Our guide will take you on a journey through the history and the creation of the volcano, which gave rise to this surreal landscape and shaped the island of Santorini. The tidal wave that was produced in ancient times by the volcanic eruption was of such a great magnitude that it wiped out the powerful Minoan city of Knossos in Crete. We make a stop to swim in the warm waters surrounding the isles, which have been heated by a hot spring located on the sea floor. From the caique, we are offered a view of Fira, the capital of Santorini, which is our next stop. After a short tour of Fira, we are transported by cable car to the pier, where our cruise ship will be waiting.

Santorini - Fira & Oia Village
Duration: 3 hours

Description: While we are traveling along the Caldera rim, we are provided with a spectacular panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding islands. The various layers of lava on the cliffside have created an astounding natural site, which tells us the story of the volcanic activity in the region. Set on the rim of the Caldera is the village of Oia, a very picturesque settlement where, accompanied by our guide, we will explore the cobblestone streets and admire the whitewashed houses with the blue shutters that remind us of the picture postcards of the Cyclades Islands. From Oia, we proceed to Fira, the capital of the island perched on the Caldera rim, opposite the volcano. The town is ideal for nonchalant strolls and relaxing at cafés while gazing at the volcanic isles of Palea Kammeni and Nea Kammeni. A short cable car ride will then take us to the pier, where we will board our cruise ship.
